Everyday is a good day for Typography.

For example; the greatness of Mona lisa by Leonardo DaVinci lied in it’s composition and how Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo has no facial expression yet she appears to be smiling in her portrait, so the greatness was in the technique and manipulation.

The greatness of The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh lied in the story behind it, and how he was left behind by his lover.

The greatness of Andy Warhol’s art is the revolutionary aspect he was expressing. Presenting vivid modern art like his was exceptional at time art was the old traditional canvas like. Even if we found similar projects to that of Warhol’s nowadays, we would call it a cliche, or a normal art? But the greatness lied in the revolution in Warhol’s time.

There are so many examples of artists who gave so much to art. We as hobbyists or -even- professionals, What can we consider to do a great piece?

I have asked this question for many years, I’ve never found an answer. What makes an artist or artistic work great? is it the composition, the feeling, the skills, the swirls, what? What do you think?
